Kitchen countertops take more daily use than almost any other surface in the
home. Between cooking, spills, heat, and constant cleanup, most homeowners
want something that looks good in the long term without becoming a
maintenance project. That's the main reason quartz continues to lead kitchen
remodel requests across Los Angeles.
Since 2013, B&F Cabinet Stone & Floor has helped homeowners,
contractors, developers, and property owners across LA County coordinate
countertops, cabinets, and flooring from one local showroom in Commerce. We
carry a large in-stock selection of prefab quartz and stone surfaces, provide
free on-site measurements and 3D design plans, and handle the process from
material selection through installation coordination.

Most countertop projects start with a showroom visit or a call. From there,
the process is straightforward.
For homeowners remodeling older Los Angeles homes, our templating process
also accounts for uneven walls, cabinet variation, and layout challenges
common in pre-1980s properties.
"B&F Cabinet did a great job bringing my old 1970s cabinets and
countertop into the 2000s. The whole process from design to demo to
installation was smooth."
From Design to Installation: How Our Process Works

Quartz dominates kitchen remodel projects because it offers consistent color
patterns, strong stain resistance, and easier upkeep than most natural stone
surfaces. You’re not sealing it annually or worrying about etching from
acidic foods. With quartz counters, soap and water handle most cleanup.
Prefab quartz has become the go-to choice for contractors, investors, and
homeowners working on tighter project timelines. Rental renovations, ADUs,
flips, and full kitchen remodels all benefit from the reduced fabrication
time without sacrificing appearance. We stock a wide range of in-demand
styles and neutral palettes that pair well with white shaker cabinets, warm
wood-tone cabinetry, contemporary slab doors, and matte black hardware.
Most customers prefer viewing full slabs in person at our Commerce showroom
rather than relying on small samples that read differently under natural
kitchen lighting.
Bright white quartz with soft gray veining remains the most requested option
across LA remodels. Warm marble-look quartz moves consistently in
transitional kitchens, while cleaner minimal-vein surfaces trend in
contemporary homes. For rental and multi-unit properties, durable neutral
quartz is typically the practical call. Waterfall-edge quartz islands
continue to be popular in open-concept remodels where the countertop becomes
a focal point.
Lighter surfaces also help smaller kitchens and condos feel more open, a
practical consideration in a lot of LA floor plans.
Some homeowners still prefer the natural variation and one-of-a-kind look of
granite or quartzite, and it’s a legitimate choice for the right project.
Both materials perform well in busy kitchens and work especially well when
dramatic movement, heavier veining, or natural color variation is part of the
design. The tradeoff is maintenance. Granite and quartzite require periodic
sealing, whereas quartz does not.
We walk customers through the actual slabs available in our inventory so
there are no surprises on installation day.
Both butcher block and laminate countertops still have a place in specific
projects. Butcher block works well on kitchen islands or accent areas where
homeowners want warmth and texture. Laminate is a practical option for
rental properties, phased remodels, or budget-conscious updates where cost
control is the priority. We can discuss options to fit your style and budget
during your consultation.
Pricing depends on material selection, kitchen size, edge details, and
installation complexity. Based on current Los Angeles projects:
Waterfall edges, oversized islands, backsplash work, and multiple sink
cutouts all affect the final cost. We regularly work with homeowners
completing remodels in phases, whether that means installing countertops
first, updating cabinets later, or planning a full kitchen renovation over
time. Ask about financing options and phased remodel planning during your
consultation.
Because we maintain in-stock prefab quartz inventory locally in Commerce,
we’re often able to help homeowners and contractors move through kitchen
remodels faster than traditional custom fabrication timelines allow.
“What really distinguishes this company is their service. When there’s a
problem, they come and take care of it in a timely manner.”
— Dr. Robert Nolan, Apartment Owner / Developer, West Los Angeles

Yes. During templating, we measure existing cabinet heights and account for
variance. This is particularly common in pre-1980s LA homes. Countertop
fabrication includes shimming and scribing to deliver a clean fit even when
cabinets vary by up to half an inch.
We can template once you’ve selected your sink model and confirmed
dimensions. Apron-front sinks require precise cutouts, so having the exact
unit on hand, or at minimum, a manufacturer template, prevents costly
refabrication.
Countertop-only replacements typically don’t require permits in LA County.
If your project includes plumbing relocation or electrical changes,
permitting applies. We’ll clarify requirements during your consultation
based on your specific scope.
You can install a backsplash immediately after countertop installation,
provided the adhesive has cured and the surface is clean. Most installers
prefer to complete counters first for proper alignment and sealing at the
wall joint.
Yes. That’s one of the main reasons homeowners and contractors work with
us. We handle all three categories and coordinate project sequencing so
materials arrive in the right order.
